Financial issues
Do graduate students receive a salary?
It is our policy to support all doctoral students in good standing for four years (msgp sometimes). Some students may be supported by grants by working on faculty projects, or by departmental assistantships in the form of research or teaching assistance. Students in 2006/2007 received 11,000 entering the program, and 12,000 for those at the masters level.
Does the department cover my tuition?
Students on assistantships or grant funding do not pay tuition fees.
What about summer support?
Summer support is consistently provided to all PhD students. Sometimes this is through funding from an advisor's grant, or through departmental assistantships over the summer.
