Personal and Educational Information

Current Research Interests

My general area of interest is in the use of behavioral methodology to prevent or treat community health problems due to accidents, disease or life style. A more specific interest is in expanding the scope of interventions through recruitment of community residents, both adults and children, to serve as agents to promote change. Current or very recent work includes:
  1. several projects to increase highway safety
  2. projects concerned with promotion of fire safety in preschool children and also inner-city residents
  3. several projects promoting behaviors to protect or preserve the environment
  4. a project with the environmental court to improve the code-enforcement system
  5. a project with the juvenile court to improve the foster-care system
  6. work with the city school system to improve the sex education program
  7. a project with the association of basketball officials to improve high school officiating
